Prof. Istvan Urban DMD, MD, PhD
Prof. Istvan Urban earned his DMD degree and later his MD degree from Semmelweis University School of Medicine and Dentistry in Budapest, Hungary in 1991 and 1996, respectively. He completed a full-time oral surgery program at St. Istvan Hospital in Budapest, Hungary from 1992 to 1996. He also finished an internship program in Periodontics at UCLA.
After successfully completing the Fellowship Program in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California (1999-2000), he was appointed as an assistant professor the following year.
Prof. Istvan Urban currently shares his knowledge and expertise in implant dentistry with students in the graduate program at Loma Linda University. He is licensed to practice in the state of California, USA, and also runs his own private practice in Budapest, Hungary.
In 2012, Istvan Urban earned his PhD degree in Periodontology from the University of Szeged, Hungary. He currently holds the esteemed position of honorary professor at the University of Szeged.
Prof. Urban also contributes to the field as a board member of the Osteology Foundation. He has published scientific articles and chapters in textbooks on bone regeneration and soft tissue reconstructive surgery around dental implants. Recently, he has joined the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan as an adjunct clinical associate professor.
